My Four Top Picks for the US Open Men's Singles Title: Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has won 4 out of the 5 last grand slam trophies and barring any major injury in the fortnight, there is a strong chance he will repeat as US Open champion again this year.

When he's in a roll, he just bulldozes everyone in sight, except in clay.

However, fate has dealt him probably the most difficult draw in this year's US Open among the male players.

That is because, as early as the 4th round, he may have to meet Stan Wawrinka, possibly the most dangerous journeyman in the draw, because of his ability to cause major upsets deep in the grand slam draw.

And the last time they met in 2016, he lost to Stan (the eventual champion).

To add to his burdens, he may have to meet Russian Daniil Medvedev, one of the few guys who has a bigger H2H record this year over him - 2 wins for Daniil against 1 for Novak.

That stat should be in Novak's head. And both wins were in ATP Masters tournaments so Medvedev is a dangerous opponent for Novak to face.

However, if he miraculously hurdles both, he may have to win over Roger Federer in the semi's and possibly Rafael Nadal in the finals.

Again, not an easy task.

Novak's road to Grand Slam title #17 is filled with a lot of mine fields!
