Breakthrough Female Player: French Open 2019 - Aliona Bolsova
Aliona Bolsova of Spain, currently ranked #137, is the breakthrough player for this year's French Open, by virtue of reaching the fourth round on her first grand slam!
I think she really profited from going through the qualifiers.
This was her path to the fourth round:
4R: Amanda Anisimova (USA) (#51)
3R: Ekaterina Alexandrova (RUS) (#58)
2R: Sorana Cirstea (ROU) (#84)
1R: Vera Zvonareva (RUS) (#78)
