My Picks For 2019 Women's French Open Title (#1): Naomi Osaka

You'd really know Naomi Osaka is Japanese because she goes about her work quietly and without fanfare yet achieves the best result.

She already has the US and Australian Open titles to her name and once again, she is the favorite to win this year's French Open title, by virtue of her #1 seed here in Paris.

If the other ladies don't watch it, she might just achieve her grand slam this year! But we are talking so way ahead for now.

Naomi was almost eliminated last night though by the very feisty Anna Schmiedlova, a former top 10 player, but Naomi quietly worked her way back in the second set and raced thru the third set 6-1.

She has a very tough draw though because she will probably meet Serena Williams before the semi-finals. Other prospective opponents include Maria Sakkari of Greece and Caroline Garcia of France, both worthy opponents on clay.

Simona Halep is expected to await her in the semi-finals while there are a host of possibilities in the finals - Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia, Elina Svitolina of Ukraine or Johanna Konta of the UK.

She has to go through this minefield of talent before she lifts that trophy.
