The heavens have spoken and they have given Simona Halep an easier draw than her peers so that she gets a chance to defend her RG title.
I could be mistaken but there is no other top ten player in her side of the draw, and if we use the head-to-head, her quarterfinal opponent would be the American Amanda Anisimova, ranked #51, so we could safely say, this is her semifinal slot to lose.
However, Simona still has some dangerous players to meet like Magda Linette of Poland. She may also meet Krunic of Serbia, Kasatkina of Russia, before possibly meeting Anisimova in the QFs.
I hope she doesn't 'relax' after seeing her side of the draw. Her problem now is nobody might take it to her before she possibly meets Osaka in the semi's.
Her finals opponent would most likely be Sevastova of Latvia, rank #12!
