My Picks for the 2019 Men's French Open Title (#4): Rafael Nadal

I am sure many of the pundits were already ready to write off Rafael Nadal from the winner's circle for the 2019 men's French Open title, then he wins Rome.

Because of that late resurgence, once again, his once mighty shadow over the courts of RG, although much diminished this year, is still there - and based on the latest head-to-head against other players in his side of the draw, he still is the guy to beat in his quarter.

Also, as a gift to him Kei Nishikori, albeit resurgent, is his highest ranked opponent in his quarter of the draw, and Kei is not really a natural clay courter, but they are still prospectively expected to meet in the QFs.

His other possible opponents include two talented clay courters - Guido Pella and David Goffin, so he should be battle ready, once he reaches the second week of the slam.

His possible SF opponent is Stefano Tsitsipas or Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic or Juan Martin del Potro in the finals.

Still an interesting set of match-ups if they do pan out.
